“I really don’t know, how I should feel about this”, Sam thought as he stood in front of the mirror getting ready for the wedding. “On the one hand, I’m excited and wired up, because my time travel machine really works. I really managed to build a machine, that can send a person’s mind back in time into the body of an ancestor. That’s the thing I’m a bit miffed about. That the machine put me into the body of my grandma back in the 60s, instead of choosing one of my grandfathers. And then there’s the date. It’s a special date. A date, that makes me feel very uncomfortable and nervous. My grandma used to tell me of this day. Today is the day of her wedding with my granddad. And today is the first time they have sex with each other. And today is exactly the day that my mother will be conceived. And because I don’t know when my machine is going to pull my mind back into my time and body, I have no other choice but to go through with this. I have to do this because I don’t want to mess up my future life, by altering the past. Or maybe messing up even more lives, because of the famous butterfly effect.”
Sam paused for a second, leaned forward, and looked his reflection deep in the eyes, “But I can do it! Because I’m a scientist through and through. I’m doing this for science. And for the world not to get messed up too much.”
