Anthony Reid was just an ordinary 23-year-old Ph.D. student living in England, until one morning, after partaking in some illicit drugs, he woke up to find himself in a room he didn’t recognize. Within a few moments he realized he was also in a body he didn’t recognize, as he now appeared to be a woman. A search of the apartment he was in revealed that it belonged to a 35-year woman called Courtney Dekker who lived in a small city in Louisiana. He tried calling England but when he got through to friends and family all he got was verbal abuse because they thought the woman on the other end of the phone was some kind of vindictive troll given that Anthony Reid had died the previous evening after a drugs overdose.
